  24. They *do* release new firmwares every month, and if you tried V1.11,
  25. you could see that they have made a *huge* progress.
  26. No I have consistent (sustained for hours) 28.8K connections where I
  27. only got 24-26k before V1.11.
  28. Obviously, the crap is not ZyXEL, but the web site of their U.S.
  29. subsidiary which is updated every 6 month or so.

  33. As far as 33.3K is concerned, it is just a joke !
  34. On what phone line do you believe you'll get a 33.3k connection and if
  35. you do, how many seconds will it last before falling back or even
  36. dropping the line ? Just try an USR and you'll see what I mean...

  38. Besides, ZyXEL doesn't want to go into this short-lived 33.3k trend
  39. because their new range of modems are in fact designed as ISDN modems
  40. with V34 support as an accessory bonus. ISDN is the way to go when
  41. performance is what you expect. In Europe, there is ISDN capability
  42. everywhere and everyone needing performance is using it, so in that
  43. sense, V34 is a dying technology and ZyXEL is running circles in
  44. performance around the other modem manufacturers.
